Gratitude Practice
Gratitude isn't something to celebrate only on Thanksgiving. For many of us, it's how we live, or strive to live. Being grateful is being joyful! Easy, no? I decided to come up with a simple game to help keep me on the path of gratitude. As I speak about in my book, Reclaiming JOY, how we are being (grateful or not, loving or not...) determines the quality of our doing...and this is how we experience life. It's a big deal!!! Here's the game: 1. Grab paper and pen (or your cell phone). 2. Set a timer for 5 minutes. 3. Write down as many kind words as possible about yourself that begin with the letter of your first name. (I.e. Stephanie: Still, Silly, Self-Loving). The key is to write words you "know" you are...and even more importantly, write words you wish to become. 4. For the rest of the year, look at this every morning and night. Add to it! Extra Credit: Share and play this game with a spouse, partner, child, friend, co-worker...etc. Thank you for allowing us to serve you. One of the best experiences in life for all of us here at BWS is to provide space for Sanctuary.
Next month we are celebrating 10 years in business here at the Sanctuary. None of it would be possible without you! Our intention is to continue providing Sanctuary for as long as possible. We need it as much as you. >>>If you are newer to BWS, please check out the range of services we offer here. As always, giving Sanctuary as a gift is a great way to give thanks. >>>Instant gift certificates can be purchased on line here. If you prefer, stop in to see us and we will gladly package the gift certificate for you. "Wear gratitude like a cloak and it will feed every corner of your life." -Rumi
In this weeks episode of Mind the Gap Stephanie had the privilege of interviewing Taylor Mills, Founder Eithera Brand (see BIO below). In an eye-opening conversation they discuss how gratitude and appreciation are the keys to accessing your abundance (aka all the things you say you want)! On the path to manifesting your dreams you will encounter countless opportunities to tap into the source of abundance. When you do, it's as if a whole universe has opened up for you -- helping move you toward that which you want. Magic? Partly. The other part is how we "show up" mentally, emotionally...energetically to be a magnet for what we want. We discuss the secret ingredients to becoming this magnet for abundance in all areas of your life! Especially these days when it feels having gratitude is the hardest thing to do, Taylor explains how a grateful attitude gives out a high vibe...attracting all the goodness life has to offer. She shares her personal experience of how being in gratitude and appreciation creates situations for success. The gratitude + appreciation formula can be applied to any area of life: health, finances, relationship, life purpose. You will also learn practical tips for starting and/or enhancing your daily gratitude practice to bring alignment of your inner & outer state (i.e.: to attract what you want). Hint: When you commit to a gratitude practice, you will become a magnet for what you are grateful for. >>>Watch Here on YouTube >>>Listen Only Here About Taylor Taylor is the founder and designer behind Eithera, a wellness brand that explores energetic and spiritual practices and support through the lens of the seven chakras. "We can lift ourselves and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude." -Thomas S. Monson Year End Reflection by Stephanie
Looking to reflect on the year and seed intentions for 2018? If so, get cozy and carve out some time to do this 3 part year end reflection practice: Connect, Reflect and Redirect... Connect: First, find a place that nurtures you. It could be sitting up in your bed or at a local coffee shop. Put your phones on "DND" = do not disturb. Take 10-20 breaths and center yourself. Reflect: Next, sit quietly and reflect on the past year in the key areas of your life such as: health, relationship, career, life purpose, overall well-being. As it relates to these areas, ask yourself questions such as: What am I proud of? What have I learned? What am I grateful for? What was challenging for me? Where are my growth opportunities? Write down anything and everything that comes to mind, as it comes. No judgment. Redirect: Based on your replies above, consider what you desire in 2018 in each of these areas. Ask yourself questions such as: What do I want more of? What do I want to improve and or change? What do I want to let go of? What support will I need? Write down your replies. Choose one area you would like to focus on starting in January. As the year progresses, revisit your notes and gradually adjust as needed. Keep in mind that sometimes priorities change and that too is part of life...growth. I support you! |
