As we approach the final few months of the year...and as the Holidays draw near... it's the perfect time to pause and make time to care for body, mind, and spirit.
While it may feel like life is moving fast and we don't have "enough" time to get it all done...this is actually the best time to slow down and nourish ourselves.
When we are intentional about how we want to live our life...end our year...refreshed, renewed, and in joy perhaps, we make choices to support it.
In addition to our upcoming events listed below, we are here to support you with our Sanctuary offerings of therapeutic massage, yummy facials, and uplifting energy balancing.

Introducing Cupping & Therapeutic Bodywork
What is Cupping?
Cupping is a comprehensive care technique aiming to decompress over-contracted muscles and other tissues. It is performed with medical-grade silicone cups. Cupping increases blood flow, absorption of water and nutrients, loosens adhesions which increase range of motion and stimulates the elimination of toxins and cellular debris, which often contribute to pain, tightness and fatigue. Simultaneously, the subtle yet crucial function of the lymphatic system is stimulated. This service is provided exclusively by Nimia (bio below).
Who Is Cupping Good For?
Cupping is a form of therapeutic bodywork ideal for people that suffer from sports injuries and chronic pain. If you are someone that needs deep tissue massage, it is likely that cupping will benefit you.
Who Should Not* Receive Cupping?
While cupping is not dangerous, it is important to notify your therapist if you have high blood pressure as this will determine the intensity of the cupping session.
*Please do not book cupping if you have the following conditions: an open wound, fever, or lymphedema.
What to Expect Post Cupping:
It is common for cupping to leave circular or linear marks on the skin that can range from light pink to deep red. The marks are simply an indication of increased blood flow which still occurs even when there is no color change.
Cupping After Care:
After cupping, we recommend dry-brushing the area treated and adjacent skin, preferably following the lymphatic flow. It is best to avoid drastic temperature changes for a few hours – this includes hot showers. Wait one day before resuming your normal exercise routine and avoid any other body work for at least 2 days post cupping.

She has since become an active member of the American Massage Therapy Association as well as a Department of Education NYS Registrant.
Nimia believes that life is all about learning and continues to attend educational workshops and trainings on a regular basis. She incorporates her knowledge of many forms of healing into her work from traditional Swedish Massage to Cupping Massage modalities.
Nimia believes that massage should be a part of your regular health care and well-being and that it is just as important as nutritious food, regular physical activities, good sleep and having a good laugh and a big hug!
Shiatsu is a form of therapeutic bodywork from Japan. Shiatsu massage therapy relies on the use of fingers, thumbs and palm to apply pressure to various areas of the body's surface to help heal common ailments and conditions, and correct imbalances in the body.
Pressure applied to points on the body promotes balance and corrects dis-harmonies throughout the body. In addition to being a deeply relaxing experience, Shiatsu helps relieve stress, treat pain and illness, and contributes to overall health and well-being. It is performed without oils through light, comfortable clothing.
Shiatsu regulates the nervous system activity and stimulates the circulatory, lymphatic and hormonal systems.
What issues does Shiatsu specifically address?
Poor posture, joint problems, sprains, arthritis, sciatica, acute and chronic neck and back pain, sinusitis, and bronchitis are treatable with Shiatsu.
Sessions are 75 Minutes, $160 and are available with Peter or Sarah.
