Power of Community
Community. Pictured above, our community gathering at WeezieD Bronxville last week to discuss and meditate on the power of good health.
Why do we crave coming together in community?
Several reasons, here are 2:
First, when trying to implement a new healthy habit, think yoga and meditation, plugging into the group energy gives us inspiration and support.
Second, when we gather in community with like minded people who are interested in raising consciousness, awareness, improving an aspect of self, we create a powerful high vibe energy field. The power from this energetic field will fill us, fuel us, and help us turn a healthy habit, into a lifestyle.

As February approaches many of us are attuned to Valentine's Day. It's hard not to be with all the marketing and such.
At the Sanctuary, we love everything love. In our experience, the best way to receive love, is to give love first. You know the saying...give what you want to receive...in giving we receive. It works :)
As Valentine's Day approaches, we encourage you to reflect on the many ways to give love.
Yes, sometimes it's by giving someone you love a fabulous Sanctuary gift certificate for massage, facial, meditation, energy healing...
Other times it's giving a stranger a kind smile...the simple acknowledgment that you see another who is also doing their best, and wants to feel loved. What a gift.

Honoring Passions by Stephanie
Last week I spoke about the importance of having a theme for 2019.
This week I am wondering if you have come up with your theme and if so, how are you acting upon it daily?
As for me, so far it's been quite easy taking action on my 2019 theme (which is honoring/living my passions everyday). A big part of the "ease" came from being on vacation (passion) in a warm place (passion) doing things I love like yoga, beach walks, etc.
If you have not yet chosen a 2019 theme, or haven't yet made time for the honoring, it's not too late!!!
I've been logging my daily passion on both my facebook and instagram pages if you want inspiration or to follow!
Life is too, live it well!!

There are so many benefits of yoga, really.
Here are a few:
*Increase Strength, Agility and Flexibility
*Normalize Body Weight
*Improve Mood, Mental Health
At the start of every year I choose one theme to focus on. This theme guides my days and gives insight about choices. Having a theme also keeps me from getting stuck for too long on any one thing.
Last year my theme was "death to ego". Yikes! Yes, to some this may sound extreme...and it was. Like many of you have shared, 2018 was tumultuous on many levels. And also so rich with learning!
As it relates to the theme of "death to ego", my experiences in 2018 gave me the opportunity to practice, to really really really practice: non-judgment, acceptance, letting go, gratitude, fun...faith!
Something tells me in 2019 I will continue to practice the above...and also bring in
My 2019 Theme which is based on this quote, "When you honor your passion, you give it life." Much lighter than last years theme, ha!
What this means is being true to myself, honoring what / who gives me life and keeping them close. Nourishing these daily with apologies to no one... and remembering it doesn't matter how big or small the expression this passion takes.
Today's passionate expression is me sharing with you in the photo below my 2 delicious cats. I simply adore them. They meditate with me, yoga with me, and for 8 years I have cooked their food.
The point is --- I have chosen, committed to, and will take consistent action (daily) on this theme to honor my passions. By honoring them, I give them life, make them real and in turn...I am ALIVE.
What's your 2019 theme?
I'd love to know. Email me here if you want to share.
