Need a little deep tissue and Swedish?
Our BWS Signature Massage is designed exactly for those who need a combination.
Most people are familiar with lymphatic drainage helping to release excess fluid in the body. However, our lymphatic system is widely diverse in its overall benefits.
Lymphatic drainage is essential to stabilizing a healthy immune system, carrying white blood cells to fight off infection, as well as transferring toxins to be filtered out to the liver and kidneys.
Since our lymphatic system does not have a pump (as our circulatory system does) the way we move lymph is with exercise or a manual lymphatic drainage treatment.
We offer manual lymphatic drainage treatments designed to create this "pump" effect.
For those new to lymphatic drainage, it is not a massage.
We are busy. Busier than ever. Perhaps our greatest challenge right now is finding how to "be" in all we "do".
For many, "doing" takes precedence over "being".
Why? Many reasons. Learned behavior, expectations, our devices, the noisy mind.
Humans are stubborn. We resist pausing the doing to connect to our being. At some point, we get tired of resisting and surrender. Sometimes we surrender on our own, sometimes we are forced to (think crisis).
Whatever you are experiencing, when you make time to "be", you renew body, mind, and spirit. You give yourself the opportunity to find what works in YOUR life, for uniquely YOU. We support you.
Our mission is to provide Sanctuary for body, mind, and spirit.
Whether you are coming to the Sanctuary for massage and bodywork, a skin renewing facial, meditation, or an energy healing session, we got you.
Maybe you are in the area and simply pop in to inhale the scents and Sanctuary vibes. We love seeing you.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey. Teamwork makes the dream work! We are grateful for the partnership.
Who Is It Good For?
Individuals who have lymph-edema and post cosmetics surgeries. Lymphatic Drainage is a therapeutic treatment of choice among a variety of massage lovers due to its many benefits. It also helps boost immune function.
What is Lymphatic Drainage?
Lymphatic drainage is a specialized treatment that gently assists the lymphatic system in maintaining the body’s fluid balance, and immune mechanisms. The system’s network of vessels and nodes contains lymph, a mixture of water, proteins, immune system components, waste products, and other remnants of cell metabolism.
Lymph nodes, which filter out the debris, are found throughout the body, with especially large groups of them in the neck, armpits, and groin. These major collections of lymph nodes ensure that the lymph passes through as many nodes as possible before it returns to the circulatory system.
During a lymph drainage treatment, a specially trained massage therapist uses a series of light gliding, stretching, and slow motions over the client’s body. The light rhythmic movements stimulate the lymphatic system with proximal and distal strokes– allowing lymph flow through the tissues and lymph nodes. This treatment follows a specific sequence over area needed to be treated.
Why Get (L.D.M)?
Today, men and women incorporate lymphatic drainage treatments into their wellness routines given its detoxification and aesthetic benefits. Proponents say the technique is effective for pain relief, muscle tension, digestive problems, cellulite, allergies, headaches, and a long list of other issues. It’s also being used following cosmetic surgery to reduce swelling and flush byproducts of anesthesia out of the body. Lymphatic drainagehas become a popular spa treatment for skin care, managing season allergies, detoxification, jet lag, and general stress reduction.
Why Choose Lymph Drainage over a more Traditional Massage?
Conventional massage like a Swedish massage or deep tissue massage is a wonderful experience for your muscles, joints, nervous system, and attitude. Deciding to receive a lymphatic drainage treatment goes a step further. You may want to cleanse your body’s tissues during the change of seasons, after an illness or injury, or following a particularly stressful time in your life. Lymphatic drainage focuses on detox and purification - it revitalizes your energy.
