"Life is short...live it well." What is one thing you can do today to feel amazing, inside and out? Connect in person with a loved one? Disconnect from your device for an hour? Pamper yourself with a facial? Nourish yourself with a good quality meal? Get more rest? Get more activity? When our energy is sluggish, it's a sign to pay attention. And speaking of paying attention... As many of you know, when we opened the Sanctuary 8 years ago, I was offering nutritional coaching. Then I stopped because I felt it wasn't about the food, per se. I wanted to go deeper into the mental/emotional reasons why we struggle with food. Hence the shamanic work and other adventures I have taken to learn how best to support people. Today I am excited to share I will be bringing nutrition back into the conversation -- in combination with the energy and meditative aspects. Shiatsu is a form of therapeutic bodywork from Japan. Shiatsu massage therapy relies on the use of fingers, thumbs and palm to apply pressure to various areas of the body's surface to help heal common ailments and conditions, and correct imbalances in the body. Pressure applied to points on the body promotes balance and corrects dis-harmonies throughout the body. In addition to being a deeply relaxing experience, Shiatsu helps relieve stress, treat pain and illness, and contributes to overall health and well-being. It is performed without oils through light, comfortable clothing. Shiatsu regulates the nervous system activity and stimulates the circulatory, lymphatic and hormonal systems. What issues does Shiatsu specifically address? Poor posture, joint problems, sprains, arthritis, sciatica, acute and chronic neck and back pain, sinusitis, and bronchitis are treatable with Shiatsu. As we embark upon the second half of 2019, it's a wonderful time to stop, look, and listen. Where is your energy and attention going? Who and what are you focusing on? Is it working/making you happy/bringing you peace/moving you toward your dreams? No matter the current weather pattern (sun/rain/storm/wind) in your life situation, your life is still moving forward. In fact, life always moves forward, and it does so with or without you. Do you want to be a participant in your life? If so, perhaps it's time to revisit the questions above. Take time and space away from people, phones, and yes, even pets. Get busy writing/reflecting/asking. Then decide what am I going to do about "it"? "It" meaning the actions you will take to advance your dreams, vision, goals...whatever words you choose. Keep in mind your dreams can be grand or small. As long as they resonate true with you, that's what matters. And they change over time. Allow and accept the unfolding. You may be pleasantly surprised that what makes you happy is simpler than you "think". As for me, my focus for the next 6 months is love. Being Love. Doing Love. Love in Action. Why this? Cause what I am learning is that my intention to be love and do love points me toward what I need/want to do...where I need to be...and who I need to be with.
