Some of us don't manage (or even feel) them at all! Whatever the case, I have come back to the simple practice of BRFWA time and again to help.

This simple presence practice, that we love and use often at the Sanctuary, brings us back to a relaxed state where our emotions can be "managed".

While we may still have "feelings", we are able to ride the emotional wave without drowning in it / losing ourselves for too long / making "bad" choices.

BRFWA stands for Breathe. Relax. Feel. Watch. Allow.

BRFWA Explained (Give yourself at least 5 minutes to experience this):

Breathe: As a wave of emotion comes over you, slow down your breath. Allow your breath to flow freely in and out.

Relax: As you slow down your breath, your mind and body will begin to relax. Soften your muscles, let go of mental and physical tension.

Feel: As you relax, you are able to soften into what you are feeling. Stay open to the sensations and emotions moving through you in this moment.

Watch: While feeling, you watch your experience closely, neither grasping what is pleasant nor pushing away what is painful.

Allow: As you watch, you allow the process to unfold. You accept yourself and your experience exactly as it is, dropping the need to change it in any way.

BRWFA is the practice of being present with what is. Being present is what we learn and get to practice during meditation.

Meditation helps us realize we can choose to be OK -- even if we don't "feel" OK.

When we are truly able to relax, no matter who and no matter what, everything shifts.

>>>If you're looking for more support with this, please consider joining my spiritual book club next month.

emotional roller coaster

https://www.bronxvillewellness.com/life-wellness-sanctuary-blog/emotional-roller-coaster

https://www.bronxvillewellness.com/life-wellness-sanctuary-blog/emotional-roller-coaster#comments

Uncategorized

When I turned 50 last year, the emotional roller coaster of hormonal changes started, big time!In addition to holistic and medical remedies, I was (and continue to be) challenged on learning how to really let go...of control, judgment, frustration, etc. Why?Sometimes nothing really works, or at least nothing works for that long.Perhaps some of you know what I am saying. The emotional range goes from peace to anxiety then to joy and depression, sometimes all in one day! Combine this experience with resistance, brain fog, fatigue, and those hot flashes, and wow! What a recipe for disaster.

What can we do?

1. Education & Support
Get educated about what is happening hormonally in your body, and get the necessary support.

2. Stay Present
Meaning, we accept what we are experiencing, even if we don't like it. We are observing our experience. We are allowing our emotions to come up and move out without resistance or judgment or even having to "understand" and "fix".

Until we are aware of, and accept, this emotional loop, nothing will change. Once the energy of resistance and judgment is freed up, we consciously choose to focus our attention on dealing with the emotional loop.

3. Redirect Your Attention
In this step you redirect your attention on things such as being compassionate with yourself (and others!), and saying kind things to yourself out loud. You can say things like, "I am safe, This will pass, I am loved, I am supported, I am not alone." By doing this, you will change your relationship with the emotional loops.

Remember, the mind doesn't know the difference between a real event happening now, or an imagined event, either past or future.
When you speak kindly to yourself in the present moment, you will begin to relax. Once you relax, and clarity returns, ask yourself is there is anything you need to do in this moment to feel peace and love? Then do it. Maybe you need to call a friend, cry, or simply be still.

>>>If you're looking for more support, consider booking an akashic record reading with me.

Awakening

https://www.bronxvillewellness.com/life-wellness-sanctuary-blog/awakening

https://www.bronxvillewellness.com/life-wellness-sanctuary-blog/awakening#comments

Akashic Records

Shamanic Energy Healing

Soul Realignment®

Sometimes we forget. Of course we do!
We forget we are human.

What? Yes.
And we forget that we are also filled with spirit.

It's not either or, it's both.

And?
Well, sometimes this navigating "both" makes the journey hard!

Why?
Because as a human, we crave form, the seen/known and we have physical needs. As human our tendency is to move toward that which we believe will make us happy; we move away from that which we believe will make us unhappy.

This of course is an illusion.

As spirit, we crave essence, the formless, the unseen/unknown. There's a deeper knowing that transcends what we believe will make us happy or unhappy.

Meaning, our spirit knows happiness comes and goes.

Sounds like a paradox navigating both. It is! And that is how we grow.

Life is a paradox

Why does re-membering this matter?
For starters, let's recall that buddha taught us how to deal with suffering. Buddha did not teach about how to be enlightened. In my experience, re-membering (get it?) helps me navigate suffering with more ease.
With ease comes greater awareness that inner peace comes from my ability to balance my human needs and my spiritual needs.

With this awareness and balance a sense of freedom (from suffering) returns.

The truth is, freedom is always available to us because it's a mindset. Yes, freedom is a choice. Freedom is even available when we are not feeling rooted/stable/balanced (which for is a a form of suffering).

How is freedom available?
By changing mindset to see the instability as teaching us how to let go.

When we are attached, we are not free. Period.

Re-membering I am both human and spirit helps me exhale when things are challenging. When I re-member, I am able to have compassion for my humanity/physicality/doing-ness and also reverence for my divinity/spirituality/being-ness.

This is a magical paradoxical dance -- otherwise known as the art of awakening.

As with art, sometimes it's highly emotional and provocative. It's chaotic, crazy, beautiful, and messy all at once.

Take a moment and absorb this.

Allow the wisdom to inform your doing AND your being...YOU. It's all one energy. Being + Doing = YOU. You must tend to BOTH.

Most of us are very skilled at doing (the human part). Our culture reward$ it.

Most of us neglect our being (the spirit part). Our culture doesn't yet fully understand and therefore support it.

It's up to you to honor both your doing and your being.

One way to do that? Get clear & awaken.

>>>Awaken to your TRUE self.
