“Daily Rituals...Making Everyday Sacred”
In life I have found it helpful to have beliefs. I have also found it helpful to be willing to allow those beliefs to evolve as I grow in wisdom. Having said this, some beliefs are long standing, life sustaining, and act as pillars for me. One of those beliefs is this: everyday is sacred. Knowing everyday is sacred, my intention is to focus energy on daily rituals and practices that celebrate the sacred. Doing so helps me remember it throughout my day. It’s so easy to forget with all the noisy distractions of the world!! My belief energizes my commitment to having daily rituals and practices. While daily meditation and energy clearing practices are my anchors, many days I also find myself writing, dancing, and engaging in various other uplifting practices that nourish my spirit (i.e.: yoga, cooking, and playing with with my cats and dog ). As I evolve, my daily rituals do too. When I start my day with nourishing practices, it reconnects me to my essential nature which is unconditional love. Feeling pure love reminds me of my divine nature. This love washes away any doubt that there is anything more important than bringing love into the world. My spirit is nourished. Ahhh, yes! I am spirit. We are all spirit. And I am human too. As the day rolls on, perhaps I encounter someone being unkind or hateful. These are the moments my daily rituals bolster me. They remind me that everything is sacred. Yes, everything, even the less desirable attributes of humanity. In fact, perhaps we learn the most from these challenging moments? My studies of the Bhagavad Gita have taught me that nothing is wasted. I mentioned last week it took a tragedy for me to awaken in death awakens us. The pain and suffering we experience is useful, if we choose to see it that way. How so? These experiences can help us awaken. The harder moments of life teach us where our limits to love and forgiveness reside. They teach us where we are still growing. Exhale. They teach us to have compassion. They teach us that all of life is sacred. My daily rituals help me stay on the path of awakening to life. Why is awakening important? Well, another one of my beliefs is that in order to fulfill my purpose on Earth (to joyfully serve), I must be awake. Meaning, I must be aware, alert, and of the mind set that everything that happens is for me to learn and grow. I often say, “let’s burn our pain and use it as fuel for the journey”. Coming back to my belief that everything is sacred translates to everyday, every moment, every breath... is sacred. My daily rituals help me remember this sacredness so I may live into it. Living as such is a powerful and humbling practice. It’s an endless practice really. A practice, not a perfect. At this stage of my sacred Earth journey, I don’t know any other way I would want to live. >>>What daily rituals do you have or will you commit to NOW? Manifesting, one of my favorite topics! These days I prefer the word creation. Why? Manifestation feels like doing. I don't know about you, I don't need more to "do'". On the other hand, creation feels like being, because it is. What do I mean? As I have talked about countless times before, creation is always happening! Our thoughts, words, deeds become our life. They are energy. A thought creates. A word creates. Action creates. Powerful. Example: Once we fully embrace our creatorship, instead of asking for a "relationship", we ask for a healthy, engaging, loving, kind...partner. Then we BECOME the healthy, engaging, loving, kind, partner. Our being and doing merge. Then we attract the partner. *Remember, we always attract WHO we ARE being, not what we "want". We up level our game by leveling up our energy. Then we take action from this place of elevation. As we do, the inner world (our being) and outer world (the physical form) align. It's not my "law", it's simply the law of the universe. We are magnets. When we understand and experience this magnetism at every level of our being, we can choose to create consciously (from the vision we have for our life) ...instead of unconsciously (from past conditioning and wounds). How do we create? First, we become still (yes, prayer and meditation!) Second, we ask our higher self, God, our guides, for wisdom (yes, prayer and meditation again). Third, we commit and begin to take small, daily action to bring our vision into the physical. Last, we stay accountable to a mentor, guide, or someone we respect deeply. If you like what you are attracting, awesome. If you don't like what/who you are attracting, maybe it's time to take a look at who YOU are being instead of only what you are doing. As creators, we need both: being and doing. How can you tap into your creatorship? >>>Attend Saturdays On-Line Event with Stephanie >>>Meditation >>>Energy Work >>>Soul Realignment® Many of us are experiencing the fatigue that comes with life -- and life transitions. With fatigue often comes other emotions that can derail us like frustration, lack of clarity...feeling disconnected and afraid.
How do we handle life and life transitions with courage, grace and curiosity? First, slow down! You might be thinking that's impossible with "so much to do". As the summer winds down we must as well. The "transitions" we and our loved ones are experiencing can be related to back to school, back to work, back to life in perhaps a "new" way. If we aren't mindful we will take on both what they are feeling in addition to what we are feeling!!! Yup, it's "a lot". As I've written about in the past, especially as it relates to "anxious energy", at times it is hard to discern what we are feeling and where / who it is coming from! In addition, times of transition and change often bring about this "anxious" energy. While it's not always pleasant, the discomfort that comes with newness and the unknown is normal! And yes, it's healthy. Rest assured, you are not alone. It is simply part of being human :) What else can we do? Embrace ways of being that return us to a state of emotional balance...also known as equanimity. As I talk about in Chapter Two of my book Reclaiming JOY, the emotional roller coaster is not sustainable and keeps us stuck. We react and often cause more turmoil. This simple practice, called BRFWA, (that we love and use often at the Sanctuary) brings us back to a relaxed state - where we focus on "being" and bring our emotions back in balance. From this place of emotional balance or equanimity, we are able to ride the emotional wave without drowning in it / losing ourselves for too long. In equanimity we find our way back to peace and clarity and perhaps even a chuckle. Once clear, we are able to take clear, focused action that keeps us on the path of peace as we move toward our goals. BRFWA Explained (Give yourself at least 3-5 minutes to experience this). Breathe: As a wave of emotion comes over you, slow down your breath. Allow your breath to flow freely in and out. Relax: As you slow down your breath, your mind and body will begin to relax. Soften your muscles, let go of mental and physical tension. Feel: As you relax, you are able to soften into what you are feeling. Stay open to the sensations and emotions moving through you in this moment. Watch: While feeling, you watch your experience closely, neither grasping what is pleasant nor pushing away what is painful. Allow: As you watch, you allow the process to unfold. You accept yourself and your experience exactly as it is, dropping the need to change it in any way. BRWFA is the practice of being present. Being present is what we learn during meditation. The Topic: The Energetic Dimension of Movement and How We Create Our Experience. Where our attention (focus/thoughts) goes, our energy (power/drive) flows, and that’s what we are creating, an experience (feeling). Who cares? Our life is the sum of our experiences. That’s a big deal! When we understand the energetic dimension of movement, we realize we have the power to create a NEW experience no matter what has happened in the past. Many of us stay stuck in the past. We lose connection with the present. This pattern negatively impacts our ability to create a fulfilling future. When we realize how powerful we are to create an experience, the impact is positive and life changing. We learn how to gain mastery of our thoughts and emotions and feel empowered. We begin to consciously choose what to focus on, and experience more peace and less suffering. As we reduce our suffering, we free up energy to help others and be in service. For me, life is all about being in service. >>>Watch It Here You deserve to feel peaceful, supported, and well. Much human suffering comes from being "here", in the present, and wanting to be "there", in the past or the future. Are You Here Now? Being here now means you are present with what is here, RIGHT NOW. You are not in the past. You are not in the future. You are firmly rooted in the present moment. You accept what is, even if you wish certain things to be different. Remember, nothing changes until you accept. Then you will be free to act. Why do we endure the suffering that comes from being "here", in the present, and wanting to be "there", in the past or the future? Many reasons: Attachment, illusion that when we get "there" it will be "better", control, fear, conditioning, lack of faith, and misunderstanding to name a few. For today, can you be here now? Are you willing to invest 100% of your attention (thoughts/words/deeds) to being with what is? I promise you this. When you root yourself in the present, you will have the capacity to be still, listen, and then act in alignment with your divine nature. When you act in alignment with your divine nature, you rejuvenate your soul. What practices support being here now & releasing the past? We are your trusted partner in healing and renewal. |
