One of the rituals we love to do at year end is reflect.
Why? We must know where we are...to know where we want to go. Light a fire, a candle, turn on some smooth jazz, get cozy, grab pen, paper. Take a few moments to breathe and center yourself. Ask yourself the following questions and give yourself time and space to see what flows: 1. What were the peak moments for me this year? These are experiences we felt alive, connected, joyful, fulfilled, successful. They can be specific things that happened as well as ways of being. 2. What were the challenging moments for me this year? These are experiences we felt disconnected, frustrated, afraid, unsure. They can be specific things that happened as well as ways of being. 3. What healthy habits served me well this year? 4. What unhealthy habits am I willing to let go of this year? 5. As I visual 2026, what do I want to create? Yes, you are the creator of your experience! Maybe you want to create a meaningful career, deeper friendships, divine partnership, improved health & well-being...more peace, laughter. The list is endless. 6. Who do I have to become in order to welcome in the above? The universe doesn't need more time. It needs YOUR energetic alignment. You are the magnet. You must align energetically to that which you wish to create. Have fun with this! Stay kind and compassionate. Looking for a deeper dive + support + accountability? >>>Let's do this! Henna is a temporary “tattoo”. Although it’s often referred to as a tattoo, henna is really a temporary stain left by a plant-based paste. People in many cultures use it to create designs on the skin. This tradition typically celebrates joyous events like weddings, births, and victories. What's a Despacho? A Despacho is a blessing, healing, prayer offering that brings balance & harmony to a situation, individual, community, organization. Handed down to us from Andean shamans, despachos are known for creating a powerful vortex of spiritual energy that brings us into better balance with our self and others. >>>Read more here about despachos. Ever feel like things are moving so fast it's hard to be present and enjoy life?
Maybe we feel our mind and emotions are out of balance and "controlling us". Slow down to relaxed presence. Slowing down sounds counter intuitive especially when we are busy / stressed / emotional. And yet - it works! As I talk about in Chapter Two of my book Reclaiming JOY, the emotional roller coaster is not sustainable and keeps us stuck. We react and often cause more turmoil. This simple presence practice, called BRFWA, (we love and use often at the Sanctuary) brings us back to a relaxed state where our emotions are in balance. From this place of emotional balance or equanimity, we are able to ride the emotional wave without drowning in it / losing ourselves for too long. In equanimity we find our way back to peace and clarity and perhaps even a chuckle. Once clear, we are able to take clear, focused action that keeps us on the path of peace as we move toward our goals. Let's go! BRFWA Explained (Give yourself at least 5 minutes to experience this). Breathe: As a wave of emotion comes over you, slow down your breath. Allow your breath to flow freely in and out. Relax: As you slow down your breath, your mind and body will begin to relax. Soften your muscles, let go of mental and physical tension. Feel: As you relax, you are able to soften into what you are feeling. Stay open to the sensations and emotions moving through you in this moment. Watch: While feeling, you watch your experience closely, neither grasping what is pleasant nor pushing away what is painful. Allow: As you watch, you allow the process to unfold. You accept yourself and your experience exactly as it is, dropping the need to change it in any way. BRWFA is the practice of being present. Being present is what we learn during meditation.
