What Are They?
Your beliefs. Your beliefs are the foundation you build your house on, aka your LIFE. What do you believe about: Love, Relationship, Family, Work, Purpose, Health, Sex, Money, Power, Spirituality, God, the Universe, etc. LIFE? Do you live in a benevolent universe or not? What you believe you become. Read that again. This is not about judgment, or right and wrong. It is about knowing YOURSELF, inside and outside. Dig deep. When you know yourself, you make conscious choices instead of conditioned choices. Conscious choices are those based on who you truly are, and who you want to become. Conditioned choices are those based on who you were, your past, and anything that isn't currently aligned with your true nature...your soul. Guess what? Beliefs can and ought to change over time as you grow in awareness. Maybe you learned a set of beliefs as a child. Perhaps they were passed down, and in some cases protected you. Now as an adult, these beliefs define and confine you! You can ALWAYS discard/update old beliefs and create new life affirming beliefs. Know your beliefs. They become your life. The choice is YOURS. Want support? Energy healing and/or Soul Realignment® sessions are a great way to uncover limiting beliefs and create NEW ones. >>>Energy Healing >>>Soul Realignment® Sometimes we forget. Of course we do!
We forget we are human. What? Yes. And we forget that we are also filled with spirit. It's not either or, it's both. And? Well, sometimes this navigating "both" makes the journey hard! Why? Because as a human, we crave form, the seen/known and we have physical needs. As human our tendency is to move toward that which we believe will make us happy; we move away from that which we believe will make us unhappy. This of course is an illusion. As spirit, we crave essence, the formless, the unseen/unknown. There's a deeper knowing that transcends what we believe will make us happy or unhappy. Meaning, our spirit knows happiness comes and goes. Sounds like a paradox navigating both. It is! And that is how we grow. Life is a paradox Why does re-membering this matter? For starters, let's recall that buddha taught us how to deal with suffering. Buddha did not teach about how to be enlightened. In my experience, re-membering (get it?) helps me navigate suffering with more ease. With ease comes greater awareness that inner peace comes from my ability to balance my human needs and my spiritual needs. With this awareness and balance a sense of freedom (from suffering) returns. The truth is, freedom is always available to us because it's a mindset. Yes, freedom is a choice. Freedom is even available when we are not feeling rooted/stable/balanced (which for is a a form of suffering). How is freedom available? By changing mindset to see the instability as teaching us how to let go. When we are attached, we are not free. Period. Re-membering I am both human and spirit helps me exhale when things are challenging. When I re-member, I am able to have compassion for my humanity/physicality/doing-ness and also reverence for my divinity/spirituality/being-ness. This is a magical paradoxical dance -- otherwise known as the art of awakening. As with art, sometimes it's highly emotional and provocative. It's chaotic, crazy, beautiful, and messy all at once. Take a moment and absorb this. Allow the wisdom to inform your doing AND your being...YOU. It's all one energy. Being + Doing = YOU. You must tend to BOTH. Most of us are very skilled at doing (the human part). Our culture reward$ it. Most of us neglect our being (the spirit part). Our culture doesn't yet fully understand and therefore support it. It's up to you to honor both your doing and your being. One way to do that? >>>Awaken to your TRUE self. "The biggest adventure you can ever take is to live the life of your dreams." -Oprah Winfrey
When I (Stephanie here!) first read this quote a long time ago, it changed my perspective. I began to see my life through a different lens. I decided to invest the time in digging deeper to uncover the dreams in my heart...and make them happen. As I celebrate my 50th! Birthday this week, I am called to dive deep, again. I am reflecting on my life thus far, and what is next. Like you, I have had many dreams realized. I have also had dreams shattered. What keeps me going and showing up? What keeps me dreaming? The spark within. The possibility of truly living the life of my dreams. I do believe living the life of our dreams is the biggest adventure...and teacher... How do I get in touch with my dreams? Reflective Writing. Writing is also a great way to release stress and bring your mind back to the present moment. Whether it’s about your successes, hopes, dreams, or goals, bringing pen to paper and focusing on the positive can be enough to put you in a more uplifted mood! As I embark on my 50th year, below are some of the questions I am writing about. 1. Reflecting on the Past: What are some of my most cherished moments? What challenge am I proud to have overcome and what did it teach me? Who has had the biggest impact on me and why? What did they teach me? 2. Reflecting on the Present: What am I most grateful for in this moment? What brings me joy? What is a current habit I am proud of? What is a current habit I would like to change? 3. Reflecting on the Future: Is there a dream I have put on hold that I want to revisit? What are some things I still want to learn and experience? What legacy do I wish to leave behind and what can I start doing now to work toward it? Happy Writing! With Love, Stephanie |
